Its been ten days since I posted….I’ve been reflecting on my eating and fitness life and I’ve come to a few realizations…My body is changing…maybe its the approach to being officially in my thirties, but I swear to god I’m holding fat more than ever. I’ve become bored with all food. totally uninspired by eating. I’ve been going to a regular gym , and while it is sooooooo convienent…and I’m sore. I’m a bit bored and missing the mental mind fuck of a metcon. Fickle I am, I guess. Cause just a month ago I said I was sick of those pesky little metcons…ahhhh the ebb and flow
..I was also sick for most of the month. Dry hacking cough that eventual went into my nose and I’m feeling much better now. I think it was an allergy thing, or adjusting to the season rather than a pathology or virus..a classmate of mine who does chinese medicine took one look at me and told me I had too much fire in my system and I needed to cool down..she said..your face is red, your lips are dry and you’re puffy…” so out with the hot tea and lemon and in came cold water and cold foods…I was better immediately and the swelling went down in my face. This brought me to another aha which was…I DO NOT DRINK ENOUGH WATER. like at all! I barely drink any. I can go days..literally without water. and I drink way too much coffee…
a classmate had a the eat right for your blood type book hanging around…I grabbed it and started reading…Its a good book. very informative of how blood types evolved and how they relate to ethnicity and race. I am type B, (+ to be exact) which is typical of mediteranean and middle easterners…I only found a few contradictions between what its telling me to eat for optimal health and a paleo lifestyle…other than to stay away from avocados…so for the past few days I have been eating more dairy, and some grains…like manna bread, and spelt cereal…I just had brown rice and ground beef..less coffee..more water, and fresh brewed herbal ice tea with nothing in it.
All in all I’m in the inquiry of what is going to work for me, given my age, current lifestyle, and emotions. It’s transition time, and its effin annoying. I am playing with my food. Still eating whole real food from the earth…staying away from certain things that have been a staple in my diet for a year, and incorporating new things I havent eaten ever or in a while…lets see how it goes…
Breakfast
1 1/2 cups spelt cereal with a bannana and 2% milk, ice tea
Black coffee no sugar
Lunch
Spicy ground beef with brown rice
Snack later..probably before yoga
2% greek yogurt with walnuts and honey
Later later…
few sips of friends vitamin water
Dinner
Grilled cheese with turkey, provolone, sauteed onions, tomato and a little may on millet bread….OMG freakin awesome. Millet bread aint all that plain, and dry, but grilled with butter was effin delicious.
